Wow - Been a bit since we updated the blog. Ain't been all that busy - just lazy. Cathy lit a fire under my shirttail so I finally finished a couple of projects. Got the shed roof repaired and covered. My neighbor "Joe" came down and handed the steel up to me so I wouldn't have to keep climbing up and down the ladder.
This was quite a project cause I attempted to level the roof. After years of neglect it had started sagging in the middle. So I jacked it up with post jacks and reinforced the rafters. It evened it out a lot but not perfect. Good enough for me tho. I also winterized the travel trailer. Gotta put up the wood wheel covers yet but it's pretty much done for this season.
Next - I finished Cathy's new purse.
It's quite a bit bigger than her previous purse but she seems to like it. Since it's all leather, it'll last a long time and it's personalized. Ain't another on like it, anywhere.
We be getting ready for a trip to visit our long-time friends in Dallas, Texas. It'll be a week-long visit with two days of travel on each end and layover at the Memphis Naval Base. We'll do some shopping at the Navy Exchange and Comissary on our way home cause we seldom get to visit a familiar Navy Base. Our friends in Texas are shipmates that we were stationed with throughout our Navy career and we have remained close ever since. They vacation at our house here in Tennessee during the summer and we visit them in the fall/winter time. Looking forward to the visit but not necessarily the drive out and back. Anywho - that about does it for this entry. Will try to update more often. TaTa
Welcome Aboard
We would like to welcome you to Cathy and Chuck's blog. We try to make at least twice monthly entries but sometimes get lax and neglect our blog. BUT we try to make up for it with hopefully interesting and informative articles. Happy Reading
About Us

- I'm Cathy, a 67 year old retired Navy wife. Spent 24 years as a Navy wife until my husband retired after 27 years of service. We traveled all over from Washington D.C., to Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Maartin, Martinique, Japan and Korea. We re-located to this beautiful state of TN from Central FL. We live in the mountains on 5 acres with our 10 cats (5 indoor). I'm Chuck, the Other Half of the equation. I'm a 68 y/o sailor at heart. While in the Navy I was a Cryptologic Tech (Intel type). My most memorable tours of duty were in Submarines (Scorpion, Skipjack, Triton & Ray), as Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Deputy Director National Security Agency (RADM C.F. Clark), and my last tour as Operations Chief at NSGA Homestead, Fl during Hurricane Andrew. It was a good time to retire. We have been looking for this home since 1965 and thank the good Lord that we're finally here.

We haven't been to a base since I had to renew my ID card. Travis AFB is three hours away. Enjoy your trip.
